Public TV to launch music channel


Public TV, a recently launched Kannada News Channel, is now set to make its presence felt in the music genre as well. It plans to launch a 24-hour Kannada music channel by December 2012.
Confirming the development, HR Ranganath, Owner and MD, Public TV said, “We plan to start a new music channel because currently there are only two Kannada music channel in Karnataka. We will exclusively target the youth.”

“We have a very strong content base already. We have 5000 hours of music library, where 70 per cent of the songs are film songs,” he added.
Confirming the launch of another channel, Ranganath said, “The principle clearance has been given for a General Entertainment Channel to be launched by March.
